Cultural Deal for Europe session at ‘Europe’s Finest Hours’ festival.
No political monologues as a foretaste of the elections the next day, but European stories told by artists, films and performers. Together with organisations from all over Europe, we are organising a day where you get to know people and themes from all the different countries that are making up the EU. Choose conversations that you find important and get to know European stories in different ways. Find the complete programme here.

15:30h – 16:30h
Together with Kunsten ’92 we host a Cultural Deal for Europe working session

Much is decided in ‘Brussels’ that directly affects the cultural and creative sector in the Netherlands, such as working conditions and the Green Deal. With the Cultural Deal for Europe (CDEU) campaign, initiators Culture Action Europe, Europa Nostra and the European Cultural Foundation put forward policy proposals that strengthen our sector at European level and contribute to a broader European sentiment. Without culture, the future of Europe is at stake, but cultural policy is hardly discussed in debates about the future of our continent. High time to change this!

During this working session – in Dutch – we will explore CDEU requirements for the Dutch context. The results are presented to relevant stakeholders, such as the MEPs who are voted into the European Parliament the next day. What should Dutch policymakers focus on at European level to strengthen the cultural and creative sector in the Netherlands?
