“EU and member state leaders need to regain confidence in liberalism and in their own citizens”

In a contribution to the opinion pages of Philea our Director André Wilkens and our Head of Public Policy Isabelle Schwarz call upon the EU and member states to regain confidence in liberalism and in their own citizens. Looking ahead to the European Parliament elections of June 2024 they provide the reader with three concrete proposals to do so. For “the war in Ukraine is not just a challenge for European security, it is also putting Europe’s commitment to openness, diversity, freedom, solidarity, and individual responsibility to the test.”
