Let’s Dream We Are EQUAL

The transnational project Let’s Dream We Are EQUAL for The European Pavilion 2024 is conceived by the antiwarcoalition.art curatorial team. Artists, institutions and activists from different countries envision the future of Europe and see it as a place where the values of democracy, diversity and freedom are continuously and respectfully negotiated. The project proposes to reflect on the idea of a network as a potential framework for the future enabling to break the hierarchical power relations and structures, avoiding conventional clichés and stereotypes, fixing a paradigm shift in thinking and a new understanding of reality as it emerges here and now.

Let’s Dream We Are EQUAL features interconnected offline and online exhibitions taking place simultaneously in various geographical locations, with a major event in Kharkiv, Ukraine and bridging them into a virtual web through a specially developed online platform, allowing visitors to experience the entire project real-time from any location. Facilitated by artist residencies and involving diverse cultural entities, it aims to create a shared vocabulary for discussing Europe’s future by asserting equal possibilities and non-hierarchical relationships in decentered geographies.

The Let’s Dream We Are EQUAL consortium brings these partners together: Ambasada Kultury, antiwarcoalition.art, The Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision, Yermilov Centre and ZKM Center for Art and Media.
