ReCrAFting Cities: Engaging the Cultural Sector for Sustainable Urban Development

29 Nov 2023

The future of our cities is a topic of global concern. As we face the challenges of climate change and urbanisation, Creating Actionable Futures (CrAFt) will host an event to harness the transformative power of arts and culture in crafting sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban spaces. The online event, “Recrafting Cities: The Contribution of Arts and Culture to the Development of Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive Urban Spaces,” is scheduled for 6 December 2023, from 14:00 to 17:00.

Established in 2022 with support from the Horizon Europe programme of the European Commission, the Creating Actionable Futures (CrAFt) project seeks to drive urban stakeholders to lead the transition towards climate neutrality. In alignment with the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, CrAFT envisions a future where arts and culture serve as catalysts for the profound transformation of our cities into climate-neutral havens.  The upcoming event aims to unite city and cultural representatives in an exchange of experiences and ideas that contribute to the realisation of inclusive, creative, and sustainable urban spaces.

Participants in the “Recrafting Cities” session can anticipate a lively discourse surrounding the pivotal role of arts and culture within the framework of the New European Bauhaus.
