Ukraine Media Fund

In the face of the Russian invasion on Ukraine and a rising tide of disinformation, the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation partnered with a group of international outlets to set up a fund for independent Ukrainian media and support journalists and publishers working in the war zone. Collected funds are directed towards the journalistic equipment, financial support for media organizations in Ukraine and the relocation of journalists to safety.

In an update of April 2023 the initiators write: “We decided at the UMF to help the most needy Ukrainian media in regions, and we have been doing it for over a year. Our Fund has become an important entity to fight for the survival of the media in the cities and towns of heroic Ukraine.
