Re:framing Migrants in European Media podcast, collaborative incubator and more!
1 May 2023
‘Re:framing Migrants in European Media‘ is a project co-funded by the European Union that we run together with five partners. The project changes current media narratives by assuring appropriate media representation of migrant and refugee communities across Europe, empowering self-representation.
In a new episode of the Re:framing migrants podcast, they dive into getting to know the hosts of the podcast, Mohammed S Bah and Barly Tsibanda. How is this project linked to their own podcast/radio shows? Who are the people involved in this, what is their motivation and what does the outcome of this project looks like for now? Join the conversation with Mohammed S Bah, Barly Tsibanda, Liza Saris and Savannah Koolen, hosted by Paula Soli. Listen to the podcast episode here.
The project also showcases the Collaborative Incubator by Beyond the Now, which brings together socially engaged artists and investigative journalists alongside digital activists to facilitate experimentation and risk-taking (mixing methodologies and approaches to storytelling), and for new collaborative alliances to be formed. Read more about the Collaborative Incubator here.
And last but not least. Mark May 12 in your agenda, for it’s the Community Assembly in Amsterdam’s Pakhuis de Zwijger. During this final event, a broader group of (inter)national journalists, mediamakers and media-activists come together for the launch of the project’s magazine “SHIFT! Actions for Migrating Perspectives” Read more and reserve your free tickets here.
