Our SHARE partner de Waag are among the organisers of this conference. After introductory key notes starting at 17:00 the program continues with several community announcements, followed by a panel discussion on an open letter launched by the Shared Digital European Public Spaces (SDEPS) calling for digital European public spaces.
Amongst these community announcements our director André Wilkens makes a plea for shared European public spaces. Connected to this plea an open call will be announced in our Culture of Solidarity Fund, inviting media-activists to collaborate on co-creative solutions for our internet.
After these open sessions the organisers want to discuss what constitutes a European public digital infrastructure, what values should be built upon, what its governance should look like and how this can promote democracy and dialogue within European society. Moderator Alek Tarkowski of Open Future will moderate a panel debate on the need for a SDEPS.
The conference Public Spaces continues on Friday 12 March with an extensive programme. Participation is free, but registration is required.
