Paradisodebate: culture and Europe

Paradiso
The Paradisodebate kicks off the Dutch cultural season. This annual event is organised by Kunsten ’92, Paradiso, ACI and the Academy of Arts, and brings together artists, cultural professionals and entrepreneurs, politicians and the public to discuss urgent topics, such as the important connections between arts, culture and society.
This year, for the first time, the European Cultural Foundation is partnering in the event through a media collaboration with a view to connect local and national concerns to the wider European context.
As the pandemic is continuing to challenge our economies and societies worldwide, it is essential to keep a wider perspective and look beyond one’s own borders. This year’s Paradisodebate will include a European perspective looking at recovery of the cultural and creative sectors and imagining its sustainable future. The context remains challenging but also brings new opportunities like those demanded in the Cultural Deal campaign. Let’s work together to get 2% of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility funding allocated to culture, and advocate for the same 2% for culture from the Dutch recovery plan in the making.
The Paradisodebate will take place live (in Dutch) with a possibility to follow online. Register here.
