Architecture festival for children from Ukraine and Germany in Munich

The project ARCHIKIDZ! festival offers to unite German and Ukrainian refugee children in a creative environment and together explore what the world of tomorrow could look like. The event brings together professional architects, urban planners, designers, scientists, parents & children eager to dream and imagine a better future. ARCHIKIDZ is not only a festival, it is a set of educational programs on architectural education of the JASU, which is the center of scientific education of UNESCO.

The project’s aim is to develop children’s creative, spatial, critical thinking and improve skills of team working. The festival usually gathers around 300 children aged 7 to 14 who work in teams and create models with architects / designers / creative people. Each team present their work and the winning team will be awarded by sponsors of the festival.

Project outputs and timeline (October-December 2022)

Outputs:

  • architecture festival for children aged 7 to 14 on 12 November 2022;
  • inclusion of Ukrainian children who fled the war and recently arrived in Munich;
  • series of educational and group work sessions with a competitive element
