Fresh off the Press – Our July Newsletter!
9 Jul 2024
The European Parliament elections took place in a highly polarised context, and we are still trying to understand the implications at the European, national and local levels. Supporting a resilient democracy is a long-term and consistent effort. Thus, the Democracy Resilience edition of our Culture of Solidarity Fund will continue to support initiatives that reinforce the core values of democracy and promote a hopeful narrative around the power of civic participation. The new open call for proposals will launch in the second half of July.
As the new European Parliament and European Commission are being formed, our commitment to nurturing a European sentiment of belonging and solidarity among Europeans remains as relevant and urgent as ever. Our Cultural Deal for Europe continues to advocate for a Europe in which culture can thrive freely. We campaign for culture to be at the core of the European Union’s political vision and ambitions for the future.
We are excited to announce the latest updates from The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings, which has just revealed the routes and artists for this innovative, river-traversing pavilion.
Additionally, our ‘What Can Culture Do‘ listening tour recently made a meaningful stop in Brussels to engage with key figures about the pressing challenges and opportunities within the cultural sector.
As we welcome the summer, we’re pleased to share our annual magazine, Common Ground.
Enjoy all the updates in this month’s newsletter!
