Europe Talks: Engaging Citizens Across Europe

12 Jun 2024

The Europe Talks events, organized by My Country Talks, have successfully brought together citizens from various cities to engage in meaningful discussions about key European issues.

In Berlin, the event focused on first-time voters under 23 who participated in workshops on security, identity, migration, and mobility. These young participants, from 24 EU countries, discussed solutions for the upcoming European Parliament elections.

The Warsaw event addressed defending European unity amidst geopolitical and economic challenges. Participants debated strategies to combat disinformation, foster democratic engagement, and ensure resilience in European values. Read more about the Warsaw event here.

In Amsterdam, citizens discussed migration, war, and climate change, fostering understanding and empathy through dialogue with those holding opposing views. This event emphasized the importance of addressing divisive topics through conversation.

Madrid’s event highlighted the power of dialogue in transforming relationships and fostering a sense of community. Participants discussed various social and political issues, demonstrating how conversations can lead to mutual understanding and friendship.

The upcoming event in Brussels will continue this tradition, providing a platform for diverse voices to be heard and fostering dialogue to address EU challenges.

Europe Talks 2024 is organised by My Country Talks together with Gazeta Wyborcza (Poland) and our Foundation. The project is funded by the European Commission Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV).
