Should mandatory vaccination be introduced in Europe? Do we need an unconditional basic income? Should fossil-fuel cars be banned across Europe?
Thousands of Europeans will meet on 12 December for a cross-border debate to discuss these questions with people who think completely differently from them.
Many Europeans already registered to have a personal dialogue with other Europeans on controversial political issues. This year, for the first time, the participants had the chance to repeatedly meet new “matches” and have several discussions. ZEIT ONLINE had called for the action together with media partners from 17 European countries. The one-to-one conversations, conducted in English, took place mainly via video call.
The digital closing event of Europe Talks will be broadcast live on the ZEIT ONLINE homepage with contributions from Berlin, Warsaw, London and Madrid. You can also access the live-stream via ZEIT Online’s facebook or youtube page.
