Digital Democracy Starts with Us

The threats of misinformation, surveillance, and platform monopolies are real, but so is the civic energy rising across the continent to meet them. We were proud to join and show our support for PublicSpaces, a coalition of over 40 mostly public media organisations working to build a digital ecosystem that serves the common good.

PublicSpaces is creating space for alternatives to Big Tech and helping reimagine how democracy can thrive online. It is one of the initiatives helping to build a fairer, more open digital ecosystem. One that reflects public values and serves the common good. The 2025 conference highlighted concrete efforts to challenge Big Tech’s influence and explored how civic, media, and policy actors can collaborate to design digital spaces that support democracy.
