CPRA 2009: Governing urban diversity? An exploration of policy tools for cultural diversity in five European capital cities

4 May 2009

Governing urban diversity? An exploration of policy tools for cultural diversity in five European capital cities by Dr Davide Ponzini is the result of the 6th Cultural Policy Research Award.

The research explores the origins, the design and the implementation of cultural diverse policies in European capitals, taking into consideration the evolution of public and policy discourse on multiculturalism in globalised societies. Ponzini describes cross-cutting theories and examples from Europe and North America, and tests them by analysing concrete policy tools and their impact on culturally diverse communities in Budapest, Helsinki, Paris, Rome and Tallinn.
