Community Conversation: Forces of Art

11 Jan 2021

Friday, 22 January 2021
14:00 – 15:30 CET

In the last months of 2020 Prince Claus Fund, Hivos and European Cultural Foundation launched the book ‘Forces of Art’, an international research initiative that examines the ways in which artistic and cultural activities shape their own societies. Forces of Art challenges assumptions and suggests new ways of thinking about the values that art and culture have for their societies.

In this dedicated community conversation we will discuss the making and the futures of the book with Diana Kudaibergenova (author of the chapter “The most important thing is to have that space! The Power of Art and Local Art Communities in Central Asia”), Višnja Kisić & Goran Tomka [authors of the chapter “Tickling the Sensible: Art, Politics, and Worlding at the Global Margin” and Mechtild van den Hombergh (Prince Claus Fund).

Have a look at the book here, listen to a STANCE podcast on the book, relive the launch of the book or order it directly from publisher Valiz.

The conversation will be hosted in zoom. In order to access the zoom link, we ask you to register by filling out this FORM.
