New Alliance Champions Socially Engaged Arts to Address Europe’s Most Pressing Challenges

24 Jan 2025

The Alliance

We are part of an alliance of some of Europe’s leading arts philanthropic foundations, uniting substantial resources, and building a collaborative network. Together, we provide support and a connected voice to help socially engaged arts to thrive.

With the Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts we will champion the power of socially engaged arts in driving meaningful social change across the continent. We believe socially engaged arts are vital to realising the EU’s vision of a resilient, cohesive and inclusive society. They strengthen cultural connections and empower communities to find creative solutions for the societal challenges they face, from mental health to climate change. They’re vital for building a fairer and more vibrant Europe.

The Alliance wants to overcome the undervaluation of socially engaged arts by shifting the narrative, advocating for increased funding, and fostering policy structures that enable this vital work to thrive. Through European advocacy and a new fellowship programme, the Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts will empower socially engaged arts leaders across Europe.

The Fellowship

The Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts Fellowship is a transformative programme designed to connect and support visionary leaders of arts organisations, driven by community engagement and social change, across Europe. This unique opportunity provides a collaborative space to strengthen organisations, enhance leaders’ professional development, and drive impactful advocacy efforts.

The deadline for applying is February 24 2025.
