Films & Politics is a monthly event series held in Brussels that brings together cinema and public dialogue at the heart of European decision-making. Each edition features the screening of a powerful, socially or politically engaged film, preceded by a discussion with policymakers, civil society representatives, private sector voices, and citizens. By tackling current issues, these evenings create a unique space for democratic reflection and exchange.
Panel discussion
This edition will open with a panel discussion moderated by Elena Sánchez Nicolás, Editor in Chief of the EU Observer followed by the screening of Mr. Nobody against Putin. The panel will explore whether Europe can truly become a security and political actor in its own right at a time when Russia is preparing for a long-term confrontation, the US approach to Moscow is evolving, and global power shifts are accelerating. One of the speakers is our Director, André Wilkens.
Film screening ‘Mr. Nobody against Putin’
The film follows an ordinary individual caught up in the pressures and distortions of contemporary Russia, and offers a human, atmospheric point of departure for a broader conversation about Europe’s response to this new geopolitical reality.
