Around 9 May, communities organise their own Europe Day moments. A debate in a local library. A street exhibition. A workshop, a concert, a public conversation. These events help people explore what Europe means in their daily lives and how they want its future to take shape.

Most of this energy remains local.

The European Cultural Foundation is bringing these initiatives together into a single Europe Day agenda. The page collects events from across the continent, making visible how culture and public dialogue are creating spaces for people to meet, exchange perspectives and take part in Europe together.

Make your event part of the collective moment

Registrations are now open. If you are organising a Europe Day activity or know of one, you can submit it for inclusion.

Each event adds to a growing picture of participation. What happens in one neighbourhood becomes part of a wider story of people gathering, learning from one another and shaping a sense of belonging through shared experience.

Creative support for organisers

To help organisers prepare and promote their activities, the European Cultural Foundation has partnered with Fine Acts, a global creative studio for social impact. Together with illustrators from across Europe, they are creating visual materials to mark Europe Day.

The toolkit will include postcards, posters and a pop-up exhibition designed for local use. These resources will soon be available for download.

Local action, shared meaning

Europe Day comes to life through the places where people meet. When these local initiatives are connected, they show Europe as a living cultural community built through participation, dialogue and everyday encounters.
