Europe is being tested. Political pressure, global power shifts and internal divisions are raising urgent questions about what Europe stands for and how people come together around shared values. In this moment, culture creates space to reflect, connect and imagine what comes next.
On Saturday 9 May 2026, EuropaNacht takes over Paradiso in Amsterdam for an evening and night programme that brings together debate, performance and music. Organised by De Kiesmannen in collaboration with YUSU, the event explores the theme of “Promises” through a mix of talks, artistic interventions and club culture. It runs from 20:00 to 03:00 across the Great Hall, Upper Room and Basement, with doors opening at 19:30.
The evening begins in the Great Hall with a live show by De Kiesmannen, featuring voices including Clarice Gargard, Simon van Teutem and Saman Amini. Together, they reflect on Europe’s role in a shifting global landscape and what its promises mean today. From there, the programme expands across the venue, combining conversations, art and music. Speakers and contributors include Simone Tukker, Sinan Çankaya, Joris Luyendijk, Thomas Erdbrink, Jip van den Toorn and Annemarie Lekkerkerker, alongside contributions from partners such as the Van Gogh Museum.
As the night unfolds, the focus shifts to music and collective experience. The main hall hosts performances by Kingdom Sound, TINS, Ray Fuego and Tida Kamara, while the basement is curated by YUSU with sets from Malindi, Bibitiana, Fendi and EUROTECH. Across all spaces, EuropaNacht creates a shared environment where reflection and celebration meet.
EuropaNacht is part of the broader Europe Day programme in Amsterdam and is co-funded by the European Union as part of the Democracy in Action research programme. Attendance does not require a Paradiso membership, and the programme is designed as a mix of seated and standing experiences.
